I am getting ready to go to work. I have to share this story with you, because I am not sure why it is bad. There was a young woman in Mariupol, Ukraine, she was killed in the fighting. She left an 8 (some sources say 6) year old daughter. The locals don't know her name, they call her Tanya. "In the last minutes of her life she was alone, exhausted, frightened and terribly thirsty. This is just one of the many stories of Mariupol, which has been surviving a blockade for eight days," Mayor Vadym Boychenko said on the city's Telegram channel. (1)
I don't know if you are aware but Mariupol has been cut off from food, water, electricity, heat everything by Russian troops. It is the city Russia keeps promising to open a way out for. The first time they shelled as people tried to leave, and then the put land mines there so they couldn't leave. So people are trapped. Today the people are still trapped in Mariupol.....
The little girl died alone from dehydration, in the winter in Ukraine...If you wonder why I am obsessed it is stories like these. She haunted me with sadness, I am hoping telling her story will help her...She will not be forgotten..
In AA we share our stories to help stay sober, but to remind others we are in a common journey through life.... So when you go the gas pump and pay an extra $10 for a fill up, remember the monster who did this to her, and why we are not getting oil and gas from Russia.
At least now she is safe and with her mother. I hate war. If you wonder why I don't share other stories from Yemen, Kashmir, Syria...It is only because I don't know them...Also I have an affinity for Ukraine, they are tough...
